Material & quality
Top-grain cowhide — the upper section of the hide, buffed to an even surface and then waxed. It comes from the dense upper layer of the hide, which makes it hard-wearing in daily service.
Finish
A wax treatment gives the surface a distressed, vintage character. Oils and wax worked into the leather create subtle color variation and lighten slightly where it bends or rubs.
Aging & patina
Scratches and daily marks add character rather than looking like damage. Light scratches can be buffed out by hand. Over months of service the leather develops a natural patina that deepens its rugged look.
Feel
Durable but soft. The waxed surface has a slightly waxy feel and continues to soften with age.
